Women’s Air Jordan 11 Low ‘Pure Violet’

The Jordan 11

The history

The anticipation for Michael Jordan’s return had reached a feverish pitch amongst Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan fans. He ended his one-year tenure in Minor League Baseball with a simple yet legendary statement  that said, “I’m back.”

Michael returned to top form after a year of his comeback and quickly clinched the Chicago Bulls’ next three-peat, scoring championship victories in 1996, 1997, and 1998. MJ wore the Air Jordan 11, notably the Concord colorway, throughout the 1995-1996 season, demonstrating his devotion to the sneaker and the colorway. The sneaker became a symbol of MJ’s comeback to NBA greatness, immortalizing a glorious era in the sport’s history.

During MJ’s thankfully short lived baseball career, famed Nike footwear designer Tinker Hatfield created the Air Jordan 11. He preserved the designs in case MJ ended his retirement and returned to the NBA – he always wanted MJ to wear the Air Jordan 11 on court .

Tinker proclaimed the Air Jordan 11 his favorite sneaker of all time, highlighting its flawless marriage of technology and design. Its ballistic mesh upper made it more durable than the usual sneaker, while the patent leather provided structural lockdown and needed lightness without stretching like traditional leather.

The carbon fiber spring plate made the shoe lighter while still supporting Michael’s weight and providing propulsion to complement his aggressive games. Its lightness allowed him to soar about the court freely.

It wasn’t simply the technology that distinguished the sneaker. Tinker wanted MJ to wear the Air Jordan 11 off the court, therefore it was created to be more formal than the Air Jordan 10. Its sleek lines, wavy patent leather, and basic form make it suitable for dressing up or down. This must be the reason why Michael Jordan considers the AJ 11 to be one of his favorite Air Jordan’s.

Despite being a sneaker, the patent leather pops when paired with a suit and adds a beautiful formal element to the outfit. Dress it down with shorts and a t-shirt for a more casual and comfy appearance. When you consider the comfort of the full-length Air Max midsole, it’s easy to see why anyone would choose the Air Jordan 11 as their go-to sneaker.
