The History
One of the most iconic Jordan silhouette , the Jordan 4 is at the top of many sneaker heads grail lists . Known for its timeless shape and lightweight feel the Jordan 4 first made its debut in 1989 and was Tinker Hatfield’s answer and follow up to the success of the Jordan 3 . For many sneaker heads all over the world at the time , the Jordan 4 was likely one of the very first Jordan’s they were lucky enough to get their hands on, due to the fact that their 1989 release was the first ever global release of an air Jordan ,so Its safe to say that the Jordan 4 opened the flood gates for many of our sneaker obsession’s and is at the forefront of the thriving global sneaker community .
The Jordan 4 originally Came in 4 OG colorways : The first being the Black Cement or “play offs” which are arguably the most iconic of the 4 colorways and as of late any black and red Jordan colorway automatically takes on the rather peculiar “bred” nickname , the black cement being no excuse . The second colorway was the contrasting White Cement , Although there are fewer on-court recollections of this colorway, their inclusion in Spike Lee’s ‘Do the Right Thing’ has cemented their status as legends on par with the director. The third addition was the Fire red colorway, it was on All-Star weekend in February 1989 in Houston, Texas, that Jordan first appeared in the eye catching colorway . Last but most definitely not least was the Military Blue colorway , designed in the summer of 1989 by none other than Mr. Hatfield himself the Military Blue Colorway paved the way for ,and inspired the newest addition to the Jordan 4 roster , the Jordan 4 Military black .
The new Addition
The Jordan 4 Military black features the same material composition and color scheme as the original 1989 “Military Blue” colorway. The forefoot overlay is composed of grey suede, while the top is constructed of smooth white leather. The TPU eyelets, molded heel tab, and Jumpman emblem on the woven tongue tag all have black accents. It has a visible Air-sole unit under the heel and is supported by a two-tone polyurethane midsole.
